Adding New SKUs in CI

Updated over 8 months ago

There are three ways to create new products within the Material Bank Catalog Interface:

1. Import using a spreadsheet.

2. Manually create a product in Master Catalog.

3. Duplicate an existing product in Master Catalog.

Adding assets via import:

1. Prepare an import Spreadsheet. Your spreadsheet must be an .xlsx or .csv file with columns defining Attributes and rows defining Products.

The link below contains a pre-formatted upload template add or update asset fields available on Material Bank. Material Bank Asset Upload Template.

2. Click on Import on the left navigation panel.

3. Drag and drop your spreadsheet into the import box or select.

4. Choose a file.

5. Review and click Save and Import.

Pro-tip: The most effective way to bring assets into the system is via

import since it combines multiple steps into one. Asset URLs provided in

an import are automatically added to Assets, linked to the corresponding

product, and mapped to the specified attribute - three steps in one!

Manually create a new product

Use manual creation when you only have a few new products to add

1. Click on Create New Item in the upper right.

2. Enter the Manufacturer SKU under UID.

3. Enter the Product Name under Product Label.

4. Click Create New Item to add the new product to your catalog.

5. From here, you can fill in the additional fields in the “MB—Required Attributes” view.

Duplicate an existing product

Duplicating an existing project is helpful when you need to add options to an existing collection.

1. Find the product you need to duplicate by searching in the Search box.

2. Select the product by clicking on the square next to it.

3. In the upper right dropdown, select Duplicate.

4. From here, you can make changes to any of the fields, such as Manufacturer SKU or Color.

Note: Once you have created a new product in the Catalog Interface,

it needs to be published to Material Bank in order to be added to

materialbank.com. For more on publishing, visit Publish Your Data.
